Spring 2022 Parent Panorama Survey
You are invited to take the Spring 2022 Parent Panorama Survey (Survey Link: https://surveys.panoramaed.com/d51schools/spring22family/surveys ).
The survey will be open from Wed. May 4 - Mon. May 16
The survey is completely anonymous for you and your child. The survey asks about family-school relationships, parent involvement, school climate and culture, how schools can support student learning, your child’s sense of belonging at school, and more. This survey is separate from the Panorama survey for students.
Results of the survey will be used in a variety of ways that will benefit your child and improve their experience at school:
1. Answers will help identify goals and trends for the upcoming D51 Strategic Plan. The
Strategic Plan will drive goal-setting and decision-making in the district for the next three years.
2. Schools will learn from the survey how they can improve school culture and family
engagement.
3. Parent feedback in this survey will help the district discover new ways to increase parent and family involvement in our schools and make sure your voice is heard.
Please select our school in the survey menu and complete the survey as it pertains to our school and your child. If you have other children in District 51, you have the option to take the survey more than once and complete it for each school your children attend.
We’re hoping for 100% participation in the survey this year. Please help us achieve that goal!
Horticulture Program
The Horticulture Program student's have all been very busy potting and selling flowers.
Early Childcare Program
Students' presentations to the ECP Advisory Board were done with pride. Advisory Board members enjoyed learning what the students were presenting and were excited to see the upcoming workplace potentials in the field. Pictured is Bo Tobin, WBC Coordinator who was being tested on the State of Colorado's Rules and Regulations for changing a child's diaper. Stephani Schwetman tried the "pregnancy belly" to experience some of the effects that pregnancy has on your body and ability to do activities during pregnancy.
Students also have been working actively on a science lesson to be presented to the preschool program later this month. Students have to create a hypothesis statement and then prove that statement through an experiment with the preschool children. They will be collecting data and sharing responses with each other after their presentation with the preschool children.
Two of the Early Childcare Program students are in the thick of working on their CDA certificate. It has been a difficult process for both their instructor who has been ill and the students who still don't have the necessary books for instruction. They continue to work through these areas as true professionals. They are utilizing Ms. Deb's expertise as well as some old books to continue their learning in order to receive their certificates by the end of May. Way to go, Jocelyn Snow and Ashley Kennedy!
As the month closes we will be presenting certificates of achievements to all Early Childcare students at our annual "Businessman's Luncheon". This year it will held at Berna B's Restaurant. We would like to thank them for their support of our program and this important event.
A Little Pie In Your Face
Early Childcare Program did a fundraiser and all the donations went to buy flowers for expecting mothers at St. Mary's Hospital! What a great way to celebrate their first Mother's Day! Thank you to all that donated and helped the mothers of our community feel loved!
Construction Technology Program
Construction Technology held its very own Advisory/Job fair. They had different employers come in and the students did on the spot interviews prepared with resumes and all. Big thank you to:
EC Electric, Kleen Kut Concrete, Merritt & Associates, RoofTek, Kruger Roofing, Bear Iron Woks and IHC Scott.
InSTEPS Program
Our InSTEPS students are gearing up for the end of the year. All year they have had cooking class, skill outings, going to their jobs, and helping the community and many celebrations along the way. InSTEPS recently competed at the 2022 Special Olympics Colorado Track Meet while their peers cheered them on!
Congratulations InSTEPS Graduates
Congratulations to all of our InSTEPS students graduating this year! Best wishes on your next chapter!

Companion Animal Care Program
Companion Animal Care CTSO are doing a donation drive for Roice Hurst. This is a great way to give, for our students to reach out to the community while helping our furry friends. As you know Roice Hurst relies solely on donations and the publics kindness. So the CTSO group thought they would reach out to Roice Hurst and see if they are needing important supplies in order to remain able to help out our furry friends looking for their forever homes. Their immediate needs, are dog leashes, nursing bottles, small cat carriers, paper towels, and fragrance free baby wipes. Donations needs, are blankets and towels, kitty litter (non clumping), canned pet food, kitty milk replacement, and pine pellets. Any donation you can make is greatly appreciated! The last day for donations is May 13th, 2022.
Teacher Appreciation
Thank you to all the teachers in our district for your hard work, positive attitude, and most of all showing up everyday and educating our most precious people. We here, at Career Center had a little fun appreciating our teachers with a "Camp Out" theme. Thank you to the front office for making this happen.
